Breakfast was very good. I especially liked the crispy home fries. The outdoor seating was alright, but felt a little cramped. The staff were reasonably friendly.
Came here for breakfast after a night on the town. It had good food. Made very quickly. Good coffee. Very friendly staff.
Theo's is a tiny place on Salem street in Boston's North End and sits almost in the shadow of Old North Church. The people are very friendly and welcoming even if you're not from the neighborhood. The fare is mostly standard US for breakfast and lunch. It's cash only so drop by an ATM before you arrive.
First morning in Boston. Fantastic Corned beef hash and eggs, like home made. Best breakfast I've had in ages. Cozy too!
This place had been highly recommended and when we arrived for breakfast there was a line up the street. We waited for about 30 minutes. Service was fast and friendly. I was disappointed with the Western omelette (the mushrooms tasted canned/rubbery, the cheese was fake/processed American Kraft type), but the home fries (more like cubed hash browns) were delicious! The toast wasn't homemade or anything artisan special. My friends had waffles and pancakes and eggs and bacon and theirs all looked good. I'll bet that the Moqueca would be delicious, since it's Brazilian, and a lot of the people working there were Brazilian. Basically, after all the hype, I expected it to be more delicious. But all in all, it was Cozy!
Best breakfast place in the North End! I went here on my first day in the city and it instantly became a favorite!
The food was exceptional. A little chilly when people open the door and stand there. The price you pay for good food!
small restaurant but great food. true staple. know their regulars.
My family loved this place. Even though it looked full, we got a table in less than 5 minutes. Being typical for an older place in the city, the tables are packed in tight, but not enough to make it uncomfortable. The food came out quick and the portions are very big. My omelette was so big I could not finish it. My family's pancakes were full dinner plate size. The service was excellent. I believe it is family run and that led to a "homey" feel. This place only takes cash, no credit cards.
Great food, great service. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommended
Extra delicious and big portions. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had.
Food was excellent. A little crowded for my liking. CASH ONLY! No restrooms although a public ones available across the street.
Great food. Good service.
Great breakfast, really good service, and their homemade hot sauce is incredible! Very cozy (cash only!)
Lovely food, very friendly staff
It's a small location, with fantastic food! French toast was great, loved the omelettes and eggs Benedict. They had hot chocolate too and that was yummy!
Surprised how good and tasty food is here. Great place to eat breakfast/dine in.
I enjoyed my time here. Food was good, prices reasonable and owner very kind. Thumbs up!
If you’re looking for a cozy corner, Theo’s is it. It’s a small local owned restaurant with good food. It doesn’t seat many people, so it gets crowded quick. It took an hour to be seated. I went with two hungry kids, so this was kind of a bummer. I ordered the eggs Florentine and it was delicious. My husband ordered steak and eggs and the steak was a little over cooked. The staff was very friendly and catered to us. I know that kind of service is hard to find.
Small cute corner cafe. Lovely staff really friendly and made a lovely breakfast.
Good food great people. One of the most relaxing peacefully places that I have ever had breakfast. It's that good.
Home cook and food is delicious the homemade spicy sauce is the bomb
I was skeptical, but this place is wonderful! Supreme Omelet is great. New combo of sweet corn and cream cheese with tomato. Try their house hot sauce!
Best French toast I’ve had in along time. Friendly atmosphere and delicious my husband was full when we left. The owner and waitresses were friendly and attentive. We also were greeted by the owner. A MUST VISIT PLACE. Cozy is absolutely right and compliments to the cook.
Great place for breakfast, food is really good and portions are generous. Nice cozy atmosphere, we liked it here a lot!
Basic American breakfast. CASH ONLY! Wish we had known that. I would have ordered more if I had more cash on me. They were quick and efficient and it was your classic American breakfast. The bacon was a bit thin for my liking though.
Very expensive but the breakfast I have ever had. I don't mind spending money on good food. Portions are big, food is all fresh cooked to order. I sat at the bar and watched the cook and he takes pride in his work. He takes his time and does it right.Eggs and omelettes are cooked on low temps and come out perfect. French toast was absolutely amazing! Their hospitality is the best I have ever seen. Everyone is so friendly and willing to accommodate you no matter how inconvenient it may be.The only draw back is how small the diner is and how long you may have to wait to eat.Although there is no bathroom I did see a few girls allowed to walk through the kitchen to go.I would definitely go back. It was worth the money. Thanks for a great visit.
Small, neighborhood restaurant. Quite a ways from our hotel, but was well worth it. The place was busy when we got there but we were seated and served promptly. My friends and I cleaned our plates😊. Great experience. It still puts a smile on my face two years later, as I write this review.
The staff here is like family!! So kind, accommodating and having a good time in the kitchen. They had great recommendations, offered to change anything to adjust to food needs. The Breakfast Special was perfect! Even the French Toast looked amazing, I didn't get it but my neighbor did, and wow!!! This is a small place and usually has a small line outside, wait time can be 5-20mins. It is also a cash only place, apparently a lot of places in Boston are. The food is great, the people are friendly and the experience made me feel at home. Definitely recommend this place to visitors and will be going back myself.
Better get here early cause no matter what the day there will be a line up!! But it is worth it...If u like eating like ur sitting on a bus or subway this is ur joint the place is super small so there will be no flaring of the elbows when ur eating!! Ha
You get to taste both the clam chowder and the lobster roll. Everyone kept telling me I needed to try these two meals when I visited Boston. So it was a special, and it was pretty dang good. The clam chowder had so much flavor, but the lobster roll was amazing. Spend the $25 for both, take it outside and people watch like I did.
Big size portions, the food is absolutely outstanding! We had Eggs Benedict, Chocolate French toast and Supreme omelet. This place is the best breakfast spot in the area!
Neatly tucked away in little Italy, this place lives up to its name of being "cozy". Great breakfast fare at great prices. Be prepared to wait outside in the cold for a table, but it's worth the wait.
one of my favorite places on earth. lived nearby & always got Brazilian breakfast streak, veggies & rice. splash it with vinegar. the best food ever. sauce from theos is homemade. make sure you ask for it if you get takeout. 100/100 💚
This is definitely my favorite breakfast place in Boston..Ordered the Western Omelet and Super Special which came with pancakes. Nutritious omelette, soft pancakes and tasty ham with perfect toasted bread. If you can handle spicy, don't forget to ask the staffs for their special spicy sauce .All the food was amazing, staffs were friendly and the atmosphere was really cozy just like the name.
Friendly atmosphere and delicious food!!! great service...
I ordered the pasta with some achiovies. I forgot the name of it but it was pretty good. My fiancé didn't get any food cause he was still full from lunch but he got two glasses of wine and we shared a dessert. My food came in a reasonable manner. The pasta was house made and came out really good. You can actually tell by the texture that it was freshly made.
Went here a few years ago. We travel a lot and like to find good local places. This one didn't disappoint. Doing the tourist thing, checking out the old north church just up the street. Walked into this place as it looked like what the tour guides suggested. Tiny little place, almost looks like mom opened up her kitchen for you. I don't remember everything we all had, but it was all quite good. Best stop we ate at during our stay in Boston. The one thing I do remember, and I would absolutely go back for without question if I'm ever in Boston again, is the cornbread muffin my wife got. That thing was it's own food group. Positively the best cornbread, anywhere, ever. Period. Full stop.
Cozy and neat place, amazing food and service. Highly recommended.
To start off, it has a great enviorment. Our table was very clean, and we waited to be served. Once we got our menus, I could tell we got a good price. Our waitress was very polite to us. Our food seemed underpriced (which is a good thing), because they were huge slices of french toast, and another person had gotten 3 pancakes bigger than her face. Overall, I was extremely satisfied.
Nice little place in the North End. Large portions, good food. They were able to seat our party of 12 even while the place was busy.
First of all the sangria will knock you on your ass. Second of all they do a pretty good meatball sub.
Decent food, but terrible service. Its cash only, a fact marked only by a small sign on the cash register. When I brought this to the attention of the waitress, she just shrugged and said I could go to the ATM next door, which I had to do; for a $2.75 service fee! Well, that took care of her tip.
The best classic breakfast spot! We go every week and always leave very happy. Well worth the weekend lines.
A wonderful place to start your day with. Everyone is so welcoming and warm indeed. Breakfast choices are many and mouth watering.
Very cozy, home style (better than I can cook) breakfast. Variety of menu options, from traditional American to Brazilian and Italian breakfast and lunch favorites. Always excellent service and food is perfect each time go.
Only issue was the prices on menu were about double from menu on computer site.. but other than that everything very good ..service great.. great food.. great folks
This is a very cozy spot! We were seated right away, even with it being busy. The food here is amazing. Everything tasted fresh and hot. I highly recommend coming here for brunch. Fyi-Cash Only
It is small but Cozy!! Great breakfasts. Wonderful friendly service. A place to enjoy local Boston!
Very tiny spot as can be expected in the north end. Breakfast is cheap and delicious. There’s no bathroom so that’s a bummer but food and service is quality
